The ghost and the machine.

Inside each of us is both.

You have driven somewhere and not remembered the drive. One part was thinking about the meeting. The other was driving the car. The mission is to know which is which — then let them work as one player.

The ghost

The intangible system — ideas, inspiration, creativity, consciousness itself. Jung called these inputs and outputs intuition and thinking. The part that was thinking about the meeting while the car still drove.

The machine

The tangible system — body, emotion, location in time and space, the drive you cannot remember. Jung called these sensing and feeling. Natural Preferences and Choices. Temperament. The program that runs until someone picks up the controller.

NPC

Natural Preferences and Choices

Life doesn’t have an owner’s manual, so we’re given an NPC mode to survive until we are ready to pick up the controller. The four-item Keirsey reading is a sketch of that machine — not a four-letter Myers type. Locking a temperament is mapping the program. I/AM is the ghost taking the controller.

Map the machine first. The ghost is easier to notice once you know the program.
